  • How EI Saved the U.S. Air Force $3 Million Dollars
    The U.S. Air Force used its front-line HR personnel to select recruiters. They discovered that the most successful recruiters scored significantly higher in the emotional intelligence competencies of Assertiveness, Empathy, Happiness and Emotional Self Awareness. By using emotional intelligence to select recruiters, the Air Force was able to increase their ability to predict successful recruiters by nearly three-fold, generating a substantial and immediate annual gain.
  • L’Oreal Boosts Sales through EI-Selected Salespeople
    It became apparent at L’Oreal that sales agents selected on the basis of certain emotional competencies were significantly outselling salespeople selected by the company’s old screening process. On an annual basis, salespeople selected by emotional competence results sold $91,370 more than other salespeople for a net revenue increase of $2,558,360 with 63% less turnover that year.
  • Egon Zehnder Uses EI to Search for Success
    For 515 senior executives analyzed by the search firm Egon Zehnder International, those stronger in emotional intelligence were more likely to succeed than those with stronger relevant previous experience or IQ. The study included executives in Latin America, Germany and Japan. Interestingly, the results were almost identical in all three cultures.
